Generally, it is best to warm only one part of the vivarium – the basking site – and to place the hide box diagonally across from this. This ensures the maximum gradient across the cage. It is also important to place the thermostat so that it accurately measures cage air temperature, not basking temperature or floor temperature. Size and placement of the water bowl depends on your python’s humidity requirements.
